A Comprehensive Clinical Assessment, or CCA, is a detailed first appointment with a licensed clinician, someone like me. It’s designed to give us a full picture of who you are and what support will work best for you.
During a CCA, we look at three main areas of your life:
Biological: your physical health, medical history, sleep, and lifestyle habits.
Psychological: your thoughts, feelings, moods, and mental health history.
Social: your relationships, family, support system, work, school, and environment.
By starting with a thorough assessment, we make sure your treatment plan is personalized, effective, and focused on your goals.
Think of a treatment plan like a roadmap. Just like a map shows you where you want to go and how to get there, your treatment plan helps us navigate your goals for therapy and recovery. Together, we’ll decide on the destination (your goals), the best routes to take (your action plan), and the markers along the way that tell us we’re making progress.
Your treatment plan is always person-centered built around what matters most to you. To make sure your goals are clear and achievable, we use the SMART framework:
Specific: Your goals are clear and focused on what you want to achieve.
Measurable: We’ll decide how to track your progress so you can see changes over time.
Achievable: Your goals are realistic and within reach, even if they’re challenging.
Relevant: Every goal connects to your personal values and what’s important in your life.
Time-bound: We set a timeframe to keep us on track and celebrate when goals are met.
In simple terms, your treatment plan is a shared guide: it helps us work side by side, stay focused on your progress, and know when you’ve reached the goals you set for yourself.
